“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" Isa. 6:8.
Isaiah had a vision of the Lord in a most dramatic fashion…immediately aware of his unworthy and unrighteous state in the presence of the Almighty, he cries out to the Lord.
After the great cleansing fire purges his soul and life, he responds to the call of God. His response to God mirrors our response to His call upon our lives. He is always looking to send His ‘holy ones’ (the saints) out on mission.
Being sent by God on mission is serving God’s purpose in numerous ways with our lives—not simply ‘getting through the days.’ Acts 26:19 Paul said, "So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven.” God’s vision-plan for our lives is a ‘must,’ not an option.
God sends us to our neighbours, to our community, to our workplaces, and to the nations…on His mission. We accomplish that mission obedience by our serving the local church, by carrying the message within us and releasing it through speaking and demonstrating acts of power.
How are you ‘carrying the message’ that you have been sent with? How are you praying, witnessing, demonstrating the supernatural, and loving…all those to whom you are sent? Is His church, which is your church, advancing by your efforts? Is your workplace aware that you are a dynamic and devout Christian, ready to love and serve? Do your neighbours have ‘experience’ with your generosity and kindness? Have you ever prayed with and for them? Maybe we need a fresh revelation of Him…
