From the Pastor's Desk

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” Heb. 11:8.

Faith, what comes in response to hearing, operates in the realm of contradiction.  In the passage above, Abraham had an inheritance that involved steps of faith that are contradictory to the ‘norms of living.’  You go out of your house if you have made a decision, regarding the specific place you are headed toward.

Abraham had no such specifics. All of the usual questions were not answered.  However, he still had heard the voice of God.  So, in the obedience of faith, he went out. His journey of faith is the model for all others.  We hear from God.  We obey. We don’t pause to ask how. We simply put one foot in front of another and move!  That action is the ‘action of faith!’

God has an inheritance for you that is good, beautiful, pleasant and delightful. However, it awaits your hearing and your action.

Get with God in His Word and wait to hear His voice as you meditate in one of His promises.  When you hear Him, ask Him to direct your steps.  If there is an action required, it will come into your mind.  Do it.

This is the ‘faith-walk’ we are called to live.  It is good!  It is exciting!  It is an adventure!
