From the Pastor's Desk

“I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed, and its destruction was complete." Luke 6:47-49.

Storms come to every home.  They may not be ‘at your address’ today, but before you leave this earth, you will face various kinds of storms.  The global population is experiencing several storms in this season.  Like the men of Issachar (1 Chron. 12:32), we must have an ‘understanding of the times’ and know how we are to respond. The storm of racial division, the storm of Covid 19, the storm of economic meltdown, and many other storms of locusts, war, and governmental fragmentation, fill the earth today. Once again, we see that our loving Father uses the storms for His and our good.  Satan uses the storms to kill, steal, and destroy. We can get overwhelmed with the ‘bad news’ of our time, get swept into a torrent of emotion that has no productive end.  We must channel our thoughts and feelings into intercession, listening, and loving…believing for the revival that makes a ‘harvest out of the storm.’ We see the unbridled outrage at injustice, helplessness, and despair that fill the earth.  We are meant to ‘rise above the storm’ and see that God cares for the souls of men so deeply and He wants our focus to be on Him…lest like Peter, we get our ‘eyes on the waves and the wind’ of the storm and begin to slip.  Man has no help, that secures the change of heart he desperately needs, except Jesus.  No government can change the human heart—it can only legislate its just punishments, for the wrong-doing it has decreed.  Let us ‘see Jesus’ and ‘see the harvest’ opportunity, remain in sharp contrast to this world’s ‘storm despair’ and make our voices heard in Heaven and in the ears of those ready to turn to Jesus. Where is He taking us?

Isa. 11:6-10 says, “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. In that day, the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.”
