From the Pastor's Desk

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deut. 31:8. “This is what the Lord says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.” 2 Chron. 20:15.

Believers are not allowed to be discouraged or become discouraged.  Discouragement is an attitude or a perspective about something that is not a faith attitude or a faith perspective.

“Whatever is not of faith, is sin.” Rom. 14:23. How does a believer not fall into the sin of discouragement?  He/she must maintain the right focus.  The believer keeps his eyes fixed on Jesus (Heb.12:2). He keeps his eyes focused on the promises he has regarding the issue. Prov. 4:20-22; Josh. 1:8. He maintains his faith-confession. Josh. 1:8; Num. 13:30-32. He rehearses what God has already done. Deut. 4:9. If you stare at, listen to, rehearse, or speak of things contrary to the promises of God for your abundant life, you open the door to discouragement, fear, doubt, despair and the sin of unbelief.

No matter how innocent-appearing some report is…no matter how scientific something is…if it is not the Word of God, it is not what you are to anchor your soul in.

Reading, listening, meditating, worshipping, declaring and obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit are the vital keys that keep the manifestation of God’s promises continually happening.  Go for it!
