From the Pastor's Desk

“Does he who disciplines nations not punish?” Ps. 94:10.

“He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them. He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; he sends them wandering through a trackless waste. They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.” Job 12:23-25.

“The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.” Ps. 9:15. “The wicked return to the grave, all the nations that forget God.” Ps 9:17. “Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall….” Ps 46:6.

Sometimes believers ask, “What is going on with our world?”  The Bible is the only real and valid journalist for revealing what is really going on, with our world.  Men and women, the world over, are searching for the answers to the problems that afflict the global population.  Only God’s people have the answers, for they have the only God that is called, “The Way, The Truth, and The Life.”

God showed His ways to Moses, but Israel only observed His acts. Ps. 103:7 NASB.  Men often react to God’s acts because they don’t understand God’s ways.  God’s ways are the laws, principles, purposes and motives behind His acts. God is preparing the final days of His redemptive purposes and His intervening in the affairs of nations, is to bring about those purposes.

Believers need not live in paralysing fear but ‘in the fear of the Lord,’ that they might not live carelessly or drift away from God’s righteous ways. God disciplines the nations out of love that they may turn to Him.  He is preparing the harvest, by allowing the full consequences of sin to bring mankind to redemptive grief.

Let us get ready for an amazing harvest!
