Fasting, or abstaining from food for a set period of time and only taking water, is a part of our devotion to God.

Worship can be defined, as giving undivided attention to God and magnifying His greatness.  As part of our ‘worship life,’ we fast and pray and so set our souls and bodies and spirits on Him—because He is worthy and because He calls us into devotion to Him.

Jer. 30:21. In so doing, He is set to favour us with more of Himself—manifested in so many ways.  He desires our unfettered attention and deep down inside of us, we desire His attention and love.  This Divinely-made formula, part of our amazing relationship to the Almighty, is designed to make us so close and to provide an amazing partnership.  You want to be partnered with God.  You do your part and He will do His part.  More of Him in our lives, means more joy, more righteousness, more peace, more blessing and more manifested promises. “…he gives more grace.”

Let us draw near to Him in these days of ‘fasting and focus,’ that Heaven might fill our lives to overflowing. Eph. 3:20.
